Atlas of the Assyrian Pottery of the Iron Age
Il progetto è finalizzato alla realizzazione di un atlante della ceramica assira dell'età del Ferro (XII-VI sec. a.C.). Si tratta di una classe ceramica fondamentale per lo studio dell'archeologia vicinorientale, sia per la sua durata che per la sua ampia diffusione (Assiria, Mesopotamia, Levante, Anatolia orientale e Iran occidentale). A fronte dell'esistenza di numerosi repertori da scavo, manca ancora un lavoro di sintesi sul tema. La pubblicazione è prevista all'interno della serie "Subartu" (Atlas of Assyrian Pottery of the Iron Age - Subartu XXIV)
The project aims to make an Atlas of the Assyrian pottery during the Iron Age (XII-VI cent. BC). That pottery is fundamental in the study of the Near Eastern archaeology, both because of its long duration and because of its widespread diffusion (i.e. in Assyria, Mesopotamia, Levant, Eastern Anatolia, Western Iran). Even if several repertories from excavations are available, no systematic and exhaustive study on the whole subject has been carried out yet. The publication is scheduled within the "Subartu" series, issued by Brepols Publishers (Atlas of Assyrian Pottery of the Iron Age - Subartu XXIV).
